Royal newly-weds celebrate at Buckingham Palace

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-13246783

Summary:

Prince William and Kate Middleton have celebrated their marriage at Buckingham Palace, where they had dinner and danced. There were gathered about 300 people who were friends and family.
Kate Middelton wore a white evening dress designed by Sarah Burton who also created Kate's wedding dress. The wedding couple stayed at Buckingham Palace after the reception which ended in the early morning. People thought they would leave for their honeymoon after the reception, but the exact details are unknown. The reception was hosted by the Prince of Wales. The sister of Kate, Pippa, changed her dress of the wedding into a long emerald green sleeveless dress with a jeweled necklace for the evening reception. Kate's and Pippa's mother wore a black capped sleeve dress which was cut low at the front side and backside of the dress. The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh were not at the reception, because they were away for a private weekend together.
The Royal couple announced to the media they want their privacy during their honeymoon and that the media have to respect that announcement.

Opinion:

I think it is nice to read how people were dressed at the reception of the wedding. Especially people in Britain loved the idea of knowing and seeing how Prince William and Kate Middelton were looking during their wedding, but also how they were dressed during the reception and how family of the newly-weds were dressed. By telling this in a news article people know what they wore. I also think celebrities will be curious about how the new Princess looked like during the whole wedding. I can understand why there were no announcements yet about the honeymoon. Otherwise I think the media and paparazzi will drive the wedding couple crazy. I also respect their announcement of having a private honeymoon without annoying media/paparazzi.

  1. Relinde!

I don't agree with you on this one, I think the information is irrelevant especially for in a news paper;) this would be a better topic in a gossip magazine. I do think it is nice to know how Kate Middleton looked like but that is it. I like your summary but I don’t really like the subject, because it seems a bit vague to me. You have a little grammar mistake in the beginning: “ There were gathered about 300 people who were friends and family”

I do think you have made a clear summary and reaction so good job!

  2. I agree with you that it is a good thing that the couple did not tell anything about their honeymoon, otherswise they would have gone crazy! I always like to know what royals wear as well, it must be so great to dress up in expensive beautiful dresses! You should look at the sentence "There are gathered about 300 people who were friends and family", just like Miranda said. The order of the words is not right. You say: "Kate's and Pippa's mother" I think it should be: "Kate and Pippa's mother". In your last sentence you say: "the media have" I think it should be: "the media has". In your reaction you say: "the family of the newly- weds were dressed" I think it should be 'was' and 'newlyweds'.
