Summary:
RSPCA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) in Leicester were shocked when they saw a dog which was badly attacked. They said: 'It was the worst case of animal cruelty they had ever seen'. The dog, named Bonnie, is a border collie and was stabbed 13 times. The stabbers left her while she was almost dying. Lisa Smith from Woodside Animal Centre said: "It absolutely sickened me when I saw her. How anybody could do this to an animal is just beyond me". The five-year-old is recovering well at the moment, also by surgery. The people who helped the dog said that the scars have healed and are not infected. Also with the dog things are going better. She is not as scared for people anymore as she was before. She also wants to play, which is a good sign. So far no-one had been charged. RSPCA is investigating who cause the dog's injuries.
Opinion:
I think it is so sad to hear what had happened to the dog. I love animals and especially dogs. It is hard to imagine that people could abuse a dog, an animal which is so dependent of people. I have a dog myself and it would drive me crazy if someone would hurt her. I can understand the anxiety of the dog towards people, but fortunately she starts to trust people again. I really hope they find the person(s) who injured this dog and that they will be punished for it.
