The parents of children at King's Park Secondary School in Glasgow have been advised that their children must wear schooluniforms and not short skirts and tight trousers. The school fears for paedophiles so it made new guidelines on dress codes. The reason the school did this was because of a recent arrest of a local paedophile. The school wrote a letter to the parents which said: "We believe that an appropriate school uniform protects children from being targeted by sexual predators". There was evidence in the south of Glasgow about adults who were photographing school girls in short skirts and also school boys and girls who wore tight trousers. Parents are advised to buy school uniforms at Marks and Spencer.
Opinion:
I think it is good the school made these measures about school uniforms. This way children are more protected against paedophiles. It is really sick that paedophiles walk around the school and are making pictures of the children. Although I find the idea of school uniforms to protect children against paedophiles good it is also ridiculous that children cannot wear what they want only because there are peadophiles. I think school uniforms could block their development of identity.
I agree with you about that it is ridiculous that the children cannot choose their own outfits. Not only because of developing their identity, but also because I don't think wearing other clothes will prevent the children becoming a victim of paedophile. I do believe the school meant well, but I don't think it is going to help.

If a pedophile really wants to do harm to someone, he will not look at what she is wearing first. That idea is ridiculous. Good summary and own reaction! Good job!
